NO PHOTO FRAZER NASH GOUGH engine parts, consisting of, crankshaft with balance weights, bearings and caps, pistons and con rods. These parts were fitted to 1935 Frazer Nash/Gough engine No. 7/121 used by A.P. Fane in the single seater Nash which took FTD at Shelsley Walsh in 1937 and which subsequently passed to Colonel Vaughan and then Jumbo Goddard. This car now resides in the Donington Collection, with a much modified twin centric blown engine, and the parts on offer from 7/121 were thought to have been removed from the car during Mr Goddards ownership, when the engine was substantially damaged following a con rod breakage which hold the crankcase. Engine No. 7/103 was removed from another of Jumbo Goddards Nashes (BMK 108) and this replaced 7/121 which was rebuilt and led an eventful life in Australia before returning to the UK. The crank and rods on offer are not claimed to be from the Fane era, but are believed to have been manufactured and fitted to engine 7/121 during the early period of the cars ownership by Jumbo Goddard and therefore probably date from the late 1950s. They are of splendidly massive proportions as befits this highly tuned engine and are of considerable historic interest as well as being eminently suitable for use in a Gough engine.
These parts are the property of a consumate enthusiast whose protracted a very expensive crusade to produce the ultimate road-going supercharged Gough engined 'Nash is chronicled in an article by Mike Gibbs in the Chain Gang Gazette No 145 August 2008.
