Short wheelbase Land Rovers are always popular as they are pleasant to drive, useful all year round and totally impervious to depreciation. Parts are readily available and cheap, and servicing is easy as there are no electronics or microchips and everything is accessible.
HVJ 528X was supplied by Henleys of Leominster to its first owner, a local farmer, and the vehicle has been gently used since then, currently in the hands of its third Herefordshire owner. A raft of recent MoTs show continuous light use, and the condition of the vehicle reflects this, being completely standard and original with light mellowing of the paintwork. The hardtop fitted has no side windows and a rare horizontally divided rear door. Oversize tyres are fitted, and the vehicle has a current MoT certificate and a V5c, but is not taxed at present. The owner describes the Land Rover as ‘solid as a rock’ and it certainly appears ready to go to work. The indicated mileage of just over 81,000 is believed to be correct. Paintwork is standard Land Rover bronze green with cream hardtop, and the engine is the reliable 4 cylinder 2¼ litre petrol unit used for so many years. A sound workaday vehicle ready to use.
