1930 Rolls Royce 20/25 Chassis
| Chassis GWP 17 is one of the ‘P’ series of early cars and was fi rst registered on the 17th March 1930 as CC 9445, for which a V5 registration document is included in the sale. The chassis therefore incorporates many of the attractive early features, particularly the short radiator (later ones were 4 inches deeper,) with hand controlled shutters, and it still retains its original early bonnet, scuttle, bulkhead, etc, and stylish cut-away front wings. A low, sporting windscreen is also included. This chassis has been in the present ownership since the 1970s when it was purchased with a truck body, and it has been in long term dry storage since then, no work having been carried out. The engine is seized, and will need rebuilding. A very complete, early and therefore vintage chassis with all the desirable features of the 1929 and 1930 cars, in need of a total restoration, but offering great potential to rebody with sporting coachwork. |
